Samantha Martin BSc MBACP
I specialise in both adult and adolescent therapy and enjoy fostering a creative environment where clients can express themselves through various forms of media. Alternatively, the space can be used for quieter, reflective moments, tailored to each individuals preference and remaining user-centred.
My core profession is Person-centred counselling, with additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and working therapeutically with children. My background is in social psychology, which often helps me understand the behaviour and relationship dynamics of my clients, whilst also considering their wider environment.
I work with young people and adults in various settings, including schools, charities, and the wider community. I am particularly passionate about encouraging growth and development through my approach, employing creative methodologies to support clients and help them access their inner world in a safe and accepting environment.
My therapeutic approach is compassionate and person-centred, aiming to create a non-judgmental space for healing and growth. I offer a safe and confidential space for our work and have training and certification in both adult and children's UK safeguarding legislation, I also hold an enhanced DBS.
My Work with Clients
I support a wide range of children, young people, and adults, addressing their mental health and emotional well-being using an integrative approach that includes Person-centred Therapy and CBT. I also offer independent counselling and support in schools for both students and staff.
More recently, I have worked with the Children's Bereavement Centre, where clients include young people and their families. I worked with those living with loss, but, also other life and mental health problems which were understandably impacted by their grief.
I have worked largely with a diverse caseload and have especially enjoyed exploring the world through the eyes of my neurodiverse clients, who often offer a new perspective on everyday experience.
I can offer therapy both in person and online, offering flexibility and choice for clients.
