I believe that everyone has the potential to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life. My counselling services are designed to help clients unlock their potential and achieve their goals.
My counselling work with adults is Person-centred at it's core, this means the client is treated as expert in their own lives, they're not coming to me for 'advise', but rather, a safe non-judgmental space in which to explore and realise their own potential.
Sometimes words can get lost or stuck in our heads, it's ok to sit quietly for a period during our sessions if this feels right, or, we can explore activity based techniques such as sketching or clay work, which can take the pressure off saying the 'right' thing.
By blending the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with a Person-centred approach I aim to understand and support your unique needs and experiences. Using this method we can identify areas you wish to work on and set manageable goals for the future. This approach can feel more intensive, with a need for further exploration and reflection between sessions.
Sessions can be delivered as Person-centred, CBT or a more holistic combination of the two approaches.

The cost of counselling services at Journey Therapy varies depending on the type of service you need. Individual sessions for private clients are set at £45 with concessions offered for student counsellors. Please contact me directly to discuss fees and any available discounts.
Journey Therapy can help you with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, bereavement, stress management and more. I will work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your unique needs and goals.
The frequency of counselling sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals. Some clients may benefit from weekly sessions, while others may attend bi-weekly or monthly.
Sessions must be cancelled with at least 24 hours notice except in emergencies. This allows me sufficient time to reorganise your session and make adjustments to the room availability schedule.
Any appointments cancelled inside the 24 hour period will be billed as previously agreed.
Cancellations can be made using phone, SMS, WhatsApp or email.
During our first session we can get to know each other and complete some of the basic policy requirements, these include outlining our privacy statement, which is intended to protect both yourself and the therapist. Together we'll explore the counselling agreement, making any changes we might feel are appropriate, the counselling agreement is a collaborative document which takes into account the needs of both parties.
Online clients are emailed policy documents pre-session, this gives you time to look through them and bring any questions you may have to the session.
An assessment which identifies the presence of mental health problems such as depression or anxiety will be carried out. This can give us a deeper understanding of how we can work together and what your goals for therapy may be.
From here we can discuss the kind of support you feel you want from myself and how I can tailor the sessions to best suit your needs.
